“THE DISTRACTED MAN”
Art-centre Exposed and Artocratia Gallery present “The Distracted Man” — a large-scale artistic exploration of one of the new yet fundamental human issues of our time.
“Instead of a hat, as he walked along, he put a frying pan on his head” — today, this line sounds less like a cheerful poem about a forgetful person and more like an artificial intelligence glitch affecting our perception of reality. Where we once laughed, we now ask: “So this is possible?”
Modern man increasingly resembles “the distracted man.” What only recently was considered a fashionable diagnosis — ADHD — is becoming part of the norm. Immersed in an endless flow of information, a person gradually loses the ability to feel themselves, to truly experience events, and to build cause-and-effect connections. They seem to float in a cloud of random phrases, incidents, fragments of news, and fleeting acquaintances.
Information appears and is almost immediately forgotten. A person loses contact with the body, with the world, and with themselves. Distraction and anxiety take the place of awareness.
