“Dream of the Sea”

A joint photography and design exhibition from the art collective, “Aristocrats of the Seas”, featuring works by marine photographers Alexander Alyakrinsky and Alexander Kilmet, and curated by artist-designer Rosita Ruis. The event was held in partnership with the Russian Geographical Society and the Russian Historical Society, with support from several other entities.

In addition to striking images of classical sailing ships and seascapes, a new series of works were presented, a semi-abstract interpretation of iridescent water reflections. Taken together, “Dream of the Sea” was a most apt leitmotif of the exhibition.
