The awards ceremony for the RUSSCOART inaugural all-Russian painting and graphics competition will be held on Thursday 21st March, beginning at 19:00, at Art-centre Exposed.

RUSSCOART is a painting and graphics competition that has brought together participants from 122 cities across the country. Artists, born from 1949 to 2006, are competing for a total prize pool of over 500,000 rubles. The expert jury consists of Stanislav Lomov, painter, teacher and academician; Vera Lagutenkova, artist and art critic; and Irina Samokhina, interior designer, teacher and author.

RUSSCOART aims to promote the development of creative abilities and support talented artists living throughout Russia. “As well as competitions, RUSSCOART is a platform for creative exchange and aims to inspire artists of all ages. We are delighted to have had such a variety of works entered. The standard, both technically and creatively, has been very high, and we are confident that each of the artists will bring their unique contribution to the world of art,” said Dmitry Matveev, Art Director at RUSSCOART.

Over sixty works have been selected as finalists, covering both professional and non-professional artists. The prize winners will be announced at the awards ceremony. In addition to the Grand Prize of 200,000 roubles, the overall winner will have the opportunity to present a solo exhibition at Art-centre Exposed.

The partners of the competition are F.I.L.A., Gamma, Structura and ArtVesti. The competition is also supported by leading art institutes and colleges in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities.

RUSSCOART is working on future competitions, to be announced shortly, as it continues its mission to find and support talented artists throughout Russia.
